The Trinity Debunked With One Verse

Matthew 24:36, and its parallel, Mark 13:32, debunk the mythical trinity, despite the poor efforts by trinitarians to change the meaning of Jesus' simple statement.

Don't change His words, believe them!

Grace and peace to all.

  1. The apostolic church existed before the disciples of Jesus Christ wrote the New Testament. Okay, according to you, Jesus isn’t God. I get that, but I don’t agree, while I do agree universal reconciliation is at least a possibility within the early church with both a scriptural and a traditional basis. But if you are going for the non-Deity of Jesus, this can lead down a slippery slope to denying Jesus was the Son of God or even the Messiah. How do we really know the Ebionites weren’t right, for instance? They were some of the earliest Jewish Christians who didn’t believe Jesus was the Son of God, let alone divine. John tells us that those who deny the son are antichrist, but outside the church that interpreted the OT, wrote down Jesus’ early sayings, teachings, and the rest of the NT, we can’t say the NT was written in a vacuum. His followers had followers, and so on. This is why Sola Scriptura and Sola Fide to me make little sense. Of course, I don’t believe the early church fathers were infallible. Nor do I exactly trust institutions that have corrupt people in it.

  2. Thanks for your comment. The Scriptures must be our foundation, "being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, the capstone of the corner being Christ Jesus Himself" (Eph 2:20). You start mixing other elements into the foundation, then you're in trouble. I can get my doctrine from the Scriptures without any additions outside of them. Who are you going to put on the level of Christ, the apostles and prophets? I believe Jesus is a God, but He isn't the Most High only true God (John 17:3). There's no "slippery slope" if you stick with the Scriptures, which clearly teach He is the Son of God and the Christ (John 20:31, etc.). I don't know all Ebionite doctrine. But you know they were either right or wrong by comparing their doctrine to the Scriptures. Who else besides Christ, the apostles and prophets can be the measure of truth? Your "slippery slope" comes by elevating others to their level of authority and truth. You are wise to see the early church "fathers" were fallible and institutions have corrupt people in them.
