The Day Death Will Die

Dear Readers,

Imagine a world without death. Imagine all of your departed loved ones being alive and well. Imagine never losing them again. Can your mind stretch that far?

Cemeteries will be obsolete in Jesus' future kingdom.

"I don't want to live forever."

I've heard a lot of people say they don't want to live forever. But they're saying it from their current frame of reference - a world where people grow old, need to be cared for like infants, then eventually die in a feeble condition. Not exactly a bright future.

I want to propel your thinking to a new and almost unbelievable frame of reference - a world where everyone is immortal, no one grows old, and no one dies. All live in harmony with God and each other. This is the world that Jesus will eventually create - a world you and I and our loved ones will live in. Now do you want to live forever?

All The Dead Will Be Resurrected

Only Jesus has the power to break the strong chains of death. He proved this by His own resurrection. He will also set all of the dead free from death - the good and the bad. From 1 Corinthians 15:

20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
(King James Version)

And Jesus said in John 5:

28 Marvel not at this: for coming is the hour in which all who are in the tombs shall hear His voice, 29 and those who do good shall go out into a resurrection of life, yet those who commit bad things, into a resurrection of judging.
(Concordant Literal New Testament)

Those who go into the resurrection of judging will eventually come to honor Jesus. That is the reason why His Father gave Him the right to perform all judgement. John 5:

22 For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment unto the Son: 23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honours not the Son honours not the Father which has sent him. (KJV)

All people do not currently honor Jesus. But they will eventually. Be encouraged by these incredibly powerful words. All will be raised to live again. All will come to honor Jesus. God's Son is able to do this. And we'll all benefit from His amazing future work.

A World Without Death

On average 150,000 people die every day. That's at least 150,000 broken hearts who knew and loved these people. That equals a lot of tears. Those tears of sorrow will turn to tears of joy when Jesus defeats His last enemy - death. How will He defeat and destroy death? Through resurrection and immortality for all. 1 Corinthians 15:

24 Then comes the end, when [Jesus] shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he has put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. (KJV)

With death destroyed, only life remains - immortal life for all. This is great news! Hopefully you are encouraged by it today, even though we'll all have to wait for its fulfillment. Have faith in Jesus - it will happen!

Seek to know Him better today,
Wes
